Strengths:Great quality, easy to setup, reliable !

Weaknesses:Very tall, needs to be placed where it won\'t get bumped causing it to tip over !

Summary:I would only recommend this unit if you are also getting the BR24BP battery pack to use with it for the extra battery run time.

If you don\'t need the extra battery runtime you may want to consider purchasing the APC BR1500LCD, it has a lower profile and is wider and it is very unlikely that it would ever fall over even if something bumped it.

The APC BR1500 along with the BR24BP battery pack is an excellent combination, it provides plenty of power ( 865 watts ) and I think you will be pleased with how long the batteries last.

I have all 3 units mentioned in this review, they all perform great, and they have never let me down !

Strengths:Good run time on battery. Configurable via software. Compact size for it\'s VA rating.

Summary:I\'ve been using APC UPS\'s for over 10 years. They have never let me down. The new BR1500 is no exception. Nice piece of equipment. Like all APC UPS\'s, it can be started up during a power outage if you need to do some work. Simply a nice unit. Of course Provantage had a good price and fast shipping.

Strengths:easy to install, provides long hours of battery

Summary:I bought APC back-ups RS 1500 and its battery pack (APC BACK-UPS RS-XS 1500VA 24V BATTERY PACK) for a week now. It is pretty easy to install. After I charge them for 24 hours, I tried to use my computer without the ac coming into APC, my computer was working fine. I am pretty happy about it. This will solve my problem when there is electricity outage, which happened a few times in a year in my area. Now, I know my computer and my hard disks will be safe.

Strengths:Very quiet and good management software

Weaknesses:Would be good if it was a bit wider to prevent it from falling over.

Summary:This UPS is very quiet and has great software managing it. Good design as far as keeping fat plugs enough space to utilize all battery backup outlets as well as surge outlets. Long lasting battery backup for two of my machines. Surge protection for phone and voice over IP.

Strengths:It works as it should.

Weaknesses:Although this may not be considered a weakness, it would be nice if, during a power outage, it could be started without AC power if needed. If you think about it, why shouldn\'t it?

Summary:After having two brownouts and a 4 hour power loss here in Chicago, I decided to get a UPS. I chose APC because of their reputation and purchased the RS 1500 for its larger capacity to power my 12 monitors (that\'s right, 12) in case of an emergency and was not disappointed. A watched pot never boils, so of course I had to pull the plug to find out if it would perform, and it did. Although the Power Chute Personal software that came with it indicated that there were only 6 minutes remaining, I still thought that was pretty reasonable considering the load. So in addition I also bought the additional BR25BP battery pack which increased the time to 27 minutes, which I also think is excellent. All-in-all, I would highly recommend this product(s) to anyone needing a UPS and would get another if needed.

Strengths:-No hum or whine as in other UPS units.-Fantastic Up-time when power drops or goes out.-More than enough sockets for anything including large AC adapters.

Weaknesses:-Relatively heavy (even though I don\'t move it as often as other people might).-Only one color (very minor concern if it\'s under a desk).

Summary:I run my entire home office off this one UPS. That includes about 12 peripherals, phones, lights, clocks, chargers, routers, modems, and other items.
Even with all of these running at once and draining the battery, I get about 15 minutes to put my affairs in order and save all active work while the power is out. I was in the middle of a phone converstaion one day on my land line over a cordless unit when power cut out due to a heavy snowfall. Everything else in the house went dead except for my office. I finished my conversation, saved all reports on my computer and got everything stored safely for when power returned the next day. Absolutely fantastic.

Summary:I am luck to buy it before a suddent power failure. It saved my data and protected my computer. Last time as I didn\'t have UPS, I losed my power supply because of a power failure. It is reliable, I think, because APC is the best brand of the ups.

Strengths:Plenty of backup time, no glitches when power goes down

Summary:With a 480 watt power supply, raided drives, a wireless / 4 port router with built in print server, a cable modem, a 19\" monitor, and 90 watt 7.1 surround speakers, the RS1500 comes through with flying colors. Unplug the power source and there are no glitches, flashes on the screen...nothing. An absolutely smooth as silk transition to the battery and back. The software is easily customized to your own settings. An excellent piece of hardware!

Summary:The item is very heavy. Be careful when you carry it. Best if a handle can be designed to carry this item. When logging into the computer, the APC software stays on your screen for a long time. It\'s kind of annoying.

Summary:I decided to purchase this product after six months of positive experience with a Back-UPS RS 800 I use with a stand alone system. The RS 1500, unlike the 800 and 1000 models, includes an expansion slot for adding a second battery if necessary, giving built-in expandability. However, I don\'t need it because even with an 18\" LCD monitor, a full tower Pentuim 4 HT PC (with every drive bay and PCI slot filled), an external hard drive, printer/scanner all-in-one, wireless router, and cable modem attached to the battery back-up part of the UPS, everything still runs on battery power for at least 45 minutes if necessary. The included Power Chute Personal Edition management software (latest version is on the APC site) is an excellent, easy to use utility. I\'m very happy with another successful APC purchase.
