Picking and choosing pages and changing the paper and printer settings was a nightmare when speed was of the essence.  I purchased this extra tray assuming that the printer would automatically select the tray according to the paper size of the file page, but I learned that the Brother MFC-8440 does not have this ability. However, I still save time and avoid mistakes by keeping both paper sizes loaded in their own trays.
