It is done by making them all the same. Security is not a really huge issue since you can have one master router or server to authorize activity on the network. Doing this, you can go deeper into networking and control access even deeper and also do advanced monitoring of packets and stuff. I suggest using MAC Filtering instead of WEP/WPA anyways because of pure speed and still time consuming and difficult to hack for most hackers.</div></div></div><div class="hreview"><div class="review_header"><span>Reviewed by: <span class="reviewer">N/A</span></span> on <span class="dtreviewed">01-Dec-06</span><span class="rating_container"> <b>Rating:</b><span class="rating"> <img src="http://i.pgcdn.com/images/rating_2_newr.gif" height=11 width=60 alt="2 Star Review" border=0></span></span></div><div class="description"><div class="strengths"><b>Strengths:</b>Is a WAP and will work for that. Can\'t say on the bridging.</div><div class="weaknesses"><b>Weaknesses:</b>Besides the broken antenna out of the box, cannot really be used as a \"repeater\" in the way most people think of that function.</div><div class="summary"> <b>Summary:</b>While this will work as a Wireless Access Point (WAP), the \"repeater\" function is not exactly what most people would think of when they hear the word \"repeater\". I purchased this thinking that I could extend my wireless range by putting it at the edge of my existing router\'s wireless range and having it bounce the signal (that\'s what most people think of as \"repeating\"). However, what they mean by \"repeater\" is that you can wire this up to your network and place it farther to extend the range. That\'s not a repeater. That\'s just another WAP physically wired to the network (good luck running that cable through your house). This does have a mode where you can buy two of them and create a wireless bridge between two wired networks. Of course, they each have to be physically wired into the two networks and then the wireless signal fills in the gap between. But that\'s fairly high-end networking and I\'m sure there are better products on the market for that.<br /><br />I mentioned the broken antenna right out of the box?<br /><br />I also had problems even getting into the web-based configuration utility of the router. The manual is horribly written, and ConnectGear\'s tech support ended up sending me a PDF with instructions on physically plugging into the router and changing the IP of my client to get to the utility. No mention about any of this in the box. <br /><br />My recommendation is that if you\'re looking for a wireless router, go with a Linksys or another brand. For the same price you can get a much better product and documentation. None of the \"extras\" in this router are really practical.</div></div></div><div class="add_review"><center><span class="pg_no_reviews"><a href="" class="add_review_link" onclick="window.open(\'http://ah.pricegrabber.com/rating_prodrev_popup.php?product_id=94329285&id_type=masterid&retid=2112\',\'prodrev_popup\',\'width=600,height=400,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes\');return false;">Write a review</a></span></center></div><br>');
