The encryption software requires administrator privileges to run on different computers.</div><div class="summary"> <b>Summary:</b>Corsair is a great PC peripheral company and the Flash Voyager is another one of their excellent products.  Comes with a copy of TrueCrypt, which is an open source encryption program.  Unfortunately to use True Crypt, one needs to have the drive for on the fly encryption/decryption on the host PC.  This is problematic on computers where one does not have administrator privileges. <br />  <br /> The drive works great and is pretty fast. I like the metal clip on the included lanyard, since it\'s easy to attach/remove from the drive.  The big negative for this drive is the cap.  I haven\'t carried the drive around much, but if I did, I\'m sure I would have lost the cap by now.  It barely grips the drive at all.  Without the cap to protect the interface, it would be easy to damage the drive. And what a great price-point!<br />Also, the TrueCrypt s/w they include is really cool freeware, that will encrypt any file or disk on your computer that you like. That\'s right, it\'s not limited to encrypting your thumb. I\'ve installed it on *every* PC in my home.<br />Finally, the drive has a really nice feel. All rubber, smooth curved lines, nicely fitting rubber cap. <br />It\'s true, the lanyard they give you is sub-optimal. WHO CARES!?!?! For a buck get a better one!
