The main selling point was the noise level, which is pretty low. The Fry\'s salesman told me it was a really good unit, and so far no regrets. Other bonuses - all wires are in black sheaths. It really makes it easy to keep the inside of the computer organized and add/remove components. Also, all plugs have little grips to make it easier to plug in and take out. It supposedly allows better air circulation. Overall, it looks good. I wish it had another pci-e plug (only has one) but I think I can get an adapter. The box itself is all black, and with the black cables, probably looks as good as a power supply inside a computer case oughta.

Reviewed by: psalmist5774 on 22-Feb-08 Rating:

Strengths:Quiet, lots of calbes, and reliable.

Weaknesses:None so far.

Summary:It is a great power supply. My last PSU was a low end 500W supply which could not feed the system correctly during start up, when the largest amount of peek energy is needed (In this case the system typically stalls randomly while launching the operation system). With the 450W Corsair supply I don\'t have these problems any more which remarks a good peek energy delivery.
The Corsair VX450 comes with a 12cm temperature regulated fan making it nearly noiseless. Active power factor correction and an efficiency up to 85% makes it comparable energy efficient, saving you a lot of money also when the system is not running under full load.
