The hardware seems to work fine and I have no complaints about it. The remote control works well also. One limitation is that the firmware is stored in RAM rather than flash memory, so you can\'t reboot the MediaMVP unless you have a TFTP server running. For the intended use where a PC is the media server, this doesn\'t matter.

The supplied software & firmware works OK, but is fairly limited, or at least I think it is. The biggest problem is the lack of documentation, especially for the 2.5 \"beta\" software release. It\'s very hard to figure out how to set things up and troubleshoot problems. If you only want to use the product for audio, it\'s probably adequate, otherwise it\'s frustrating.

I don\'t think Hauppauge is supporting this product any more since they haven\'t updated the software since July 2005.

I haven\'t tried any of the 3rd party firmware yet, so I don\'t know if that works better.

Reviewed by: whatuphomey on 17-Dec-05 Rating:

Strengths:Very easy to set up.
