Strengths:Cheap, very functional, and very fun to use!

Summary:It\'s a great controller if you want something for very little money. It functions amazingly well and is very customizable. My only complaint is the squareish shape which causes cardinal directions to be slightly more difficult. From other reviews, it seems to break after time, but I\'m sure it should last for those who are gentle.

Strengths:compatible with Logitech profiler

Summary:Failed after 5 months of casual use. If you think you are getting what looks like a PS2 controller think again this is smaller and not ideal for long sessions of mashing because it will mess up your thumbs and wrist.

Summary:I have had 2 of this gamepad, and I\'ve had similar experience with both: worked great out of the box for about 2 months but one of the analog stick would die almost unfailingly. For the price you pay, I guess you kind of expect that to happen. During the time that it is functional, it is a great game pad. However, unless you want to buy a new game pad every 2 months, I suggest you stay away from this.

Summary:I bought this gamepad for NHL 2005 last year. I was amazed how wonderful the controller functioned and how well designed it was. For about 2-3 weeks I was extremely happy with it. But then it started to randomly lose calibration. I would reset the calibration and it would work again. Then it would lose calibration more and more often. Eventually, it stopped working altogether. I went to Logitech\'s website and downloaded their software and tools, thinking this would help. At first, things got better. But only marginally. Eventually, the thing stopped working again. On their forums, lots of people are having the same problems and they do not help anyone. I have contacted their customer support and they will not replace or do anything to help me!

Do not buy this product. It is not reliable and you will just end up wasting your money.

Strengths:Cheap, dirt cheap.

Weaknesses:Worth about as much as dirt. Analog sticks *will* fail with time.

Summary:I bought this at a local computer shop for only 20$ AU, incredibly cheap for a gamepad. You get what you pay for I guess.
The design of the gamepad is very nice, it fits well into the hand, and all the buttons are easily pressable.
After four months though, the controller died, at times it would unresponsive, at times it would work, the calibration on the analog sticks would fail.
After I gave up on it, I got a bit curious and opened it up, apparently the analog sticks are only held in place by 4 rubber bands. Not the highest quality I\'ve seen.

Strengths:Great Precision (WHILE IT LASTS), All buttons and D-pad react efficiently, Familar Design, Plug n Play

Summary:This controller was great and worked flawlessly for the first couple of weeks. Then one of the analog controls began to act up and since has only worsen. I installed it plug n play and was suggested to install their latest drivers for the problem. That basically killed use of the controller since their drivers have no manual calibration option. Before, I would use XPs tool which would fix the problem temporarily. Now, the only way to recalibrate is to replug it which is why I just junked it. I also noticed that the whole calibration issue is in the plug* so I guess there isn\'t much Logitech can do but offer a recall or refund, at least an exchange. Oh well, at least it was only $20.

Summary:There is nothing wrong with the design only that for 20 bucks its durability becomes a question mark. I\'ve had it for 5 months and played mvp baseball basically a couple of times with it. NHL 2005 came out recently and i played a lot and when i mean a lot i mean hours. Well recently it the right analog just gave out and now it \"sticks\" or keeps goin in one direction without u pushing it in that direction. Its sad cuz it was a good pad while it lasted.

Strengths:No loose or flimsy buttons; feels very solid; accurate analog joysticks; plug and play for Mac.

Weaknesses:D-pad doesn\'t work with my THPS4 for Mac; no rumble pack/dual shock.

Summary:I bought this controller because it looks very similar to a Playstation controller, and indeed, it\'s very easy to pick up if you\'re used to PSX or PS2. All the buttons are easy to reach and are pretty much in exactly the same place as they are on a PS controller. There\'s no vibration, but if you read the description (and look at the low price), you shouldn\'t expect it. This low price doesn\'t mean low quality, however. There\'s almost no flex in the body of the controller. All of the buttons and the joysticks have stronger springs than those of a PS controller, but they\'re not so strong that the buttons are hard to push. It\'s a perfect balance because the buttons stay exactly where they should be all the time and there is none of the loss of sensitivity that happens to an old PS controller. The analog sticks have a bit too much tension and range of movement if you\'re using them for quick movements (like pulling off trick combos in THPS4), but I think that it is just this quality that would make them perfect for a driving game or something that would require more gradual motion.

This brings me to my one major complaint about the controller: I can\'t use the D-pad with THPS4. I don\'t know if it\'s a problem with the hardware (I doubt it) or if it\'s that the software that comes with the game, but it won\'t let me program the D-pad for movement. The controller setup software that opens when you start up THPS4 allows you to program all of the other buttons and joysticks, as well as calibrate the sticks, but it doesn\'t respond to the D-pad. It ended up not being too big of a problem after I got used to using the left stick, but I still think it would have been better to use the D-pad.

Overall, I think that this controller is worth the money, especially if PriceGrabber still has their rebate going. I doubt that the D-pad will be a problem for Windows users, and even for me, it wasn\'t that bad. Good job Logitech.

Weaknesses:a little imprecise

Summary:This controller is cheap (got it for 16 at Provantage).
Works fine with all games I tested (not many). A little imprecise on FIFA 2004. Works great with MAME - that was my primary application, for my kids.

I didn\'t have problems with calibration like other people here mentioned - maybe it is a newer batch.

Summary:This is a very good solid controller. I got it for 20 bucks and its great. Just like the playstation 2 controller. My friends have similar controllers from other manufacturers and they have problems with odd feeling buttons or shotty construction. This controller doesn\'t have these flaws and was worth $20 in a heartbeat.

Strengths:just like the ps2 controller, easy to use if you are used to playing games on ps2.

Weaknesses:biggest one so far is that the direction pad is no different than using joystick because it is one combined button rather than four individual ones like on conventional controllers

Summary:This is the controller of choice for most of the EA Sports 2004 games. It took some getting used to after switching from my Sidewinder, but the extra controls on this are worth the learning curve. And you can\'t play a good game of MVP 2004 without it.

I would certainly purchase another one of these for another system in a heartbeat.

Summary:I have had this gamepad for over 2 weeks and it is a major upgrade from the Gravis gamepad pro. This gamepad is cheap, durable, easy to use, fast, ergonomicaly configured, and multi-functional. The 2 joystick are a bit over the top. Really no need for it since there is a D Pad. I highly recommend this game pad mostly because it can be bought cheap.

Summary:This is the first gamepad I have used, and purchased it due to it\'s poppularity and good reviews. Installation and setup was easy on my Windows XP computer. The Logitech web site has pre-configured profiles (button mappings) for many games for downloading. I have only used it with the Need for Speed III racing game so far. It works great and feels good in hand. Has many programmable buttons. The dual analog joystcks are a nice feature and would allow this gamepad to be used with many types of games
