Strengths:Simple to use, fast performance.

Summary:I added this switch to my network since I have a few devices that are Gb capable, and I don\'t regret it in the least. The unit was so simple to set up, as it should be (just plug it in and go) and I was moving huge batches of digital photos between systems with ease and speed. Beware, however, of devices that have Gb ports but do not actually perform fast enough to take advantage of this transfer rate (e.g., Western Digital My Book World Edition).

Strengths:Compact size, low heat generation, easy setup

Weaknesses:Unstable jumbo frame support

Summary:This is a very good gigabit switch for home use. Its size is small and runs cool. Pefromance is very good for typical switch functions. Only complain is its unstable supoort for jumbo frame in mixed network. Speed is not consistent.

Strengths:everything automatically, no setup needed.

Weaknesses:hard to specify each workstation

Summary:Before connection this one between the router and all 3 work stations, all my work stations have pre-set IP address. After insert this switch, PC shows connection to switch, but not intranet or internet. I had to set all PC back to auto for TCP/IP to get it work. Now everything is fine: 1 on 1 gigabyte, 2 on 100M byte. Plan to buy gigabyte NIC for other two. So far no test for speed because only one has 1 Gbps connection. Will compare later. It is warm but not hot. for 10 USD after rebate, it worth the money.

Summary:I bought this switch for streaming video in a home network. I\'ve been using it for about 2 months with no issues. Plug and play for my setup, was really nice to be so compact so I could easily tuck it away. Linksys hasn\'t let me down yet with their home or business class networking products so I give this particular piece a thumbs up.

Strengths:Auto sensing 10/100/1000

Weaknesses:Not the form factor pictured, not stackable with other Linksys equipment, no feedback on the actual connection speed.

Summary:This little hub has a few advantages: it does auto sensing from 10 to 1000 MHz, it automatically corrects for wires (thru vs. crossed).

Unfortunately, the \"new\" version, v.3, is the only one you can find new and has a few drawbacks:
1- It is not the form factor pictured on this site or on many of the vendor sites. It is actually a much smaller form factor, about 4x4\" (see picture), which means that it is NOT stackable with other traditional 2Linksys equipment. If that is important to you, beware.
2- There is NO feedback on the actual connection speed. So you don\'t know from the hub whether you connection speed is 10, 100 or 1GHz. Very annoying, especially if your computers are a little ways away.

Another thing to remember is that replacing your 100MHz hub by a 1GHz hub will NOT multiply your network throughput by a factor 10. Other factors come into play, such as, but not limited to, your OS. In my case, I got a speedup of a factor 2 when one of the computers involved in the transfer is WindowsXP-based and a speedup of 7 with both computers running Linux... Your mileage may vary.

Strengths:5 port auto sensing 10/100/100 20/200/2000 switch. Auto cross-over for uplink to other switches, stacks to other Linksys products, inexpensive.

Weaknesses:DC power supply is a little large.

Summary:Easy drop in Gigabit switch that is backwards compatable with yoour old 10/100 devices. Diagnostic LEDs indicate link, speed, and duplex, stacks with other Linksys products, inexpensive. I have this connected to a NetGear GA311 NIC (Gigabit), a Marvel imbedded NIC (Gigabit), an old Orinoco AP1000 (10Mbps) and an old Linksys BEFSR41 router (100Mbps). Works perfertly. It stacks on top of the BEFSR41 and will also stack with other Linksys routers and wireless access points. I would recommend, expecially if you already have other Linksys products.

Summary:This switch as all of the standard features, and installs simply (right now daisy-chained to a Linksys router). No problems with NAT. You will not be disappointed with this switch.

Strengths:Gigabit is fast. Easy to septup.Stacks with other Linksys products.

Weaknesses:Doesn\'t seem to have all the features of some of the competitor products, however I\'m not sure why I would need them.

Summary:The network is no longer a bottleneck, now its my hard drives.
Went from taking 3 minutes to transfer 2GB from one computer to another down to 40 seconds.

This was a breeze to setup. Just plug everyhting in and it works.

Someone said it was noisy in another review. Not True. I have a near silent PC (Seasonic Tornado and Zalman HSF) and I can\'t hear anything except my hard drive clicking.

One thing I didn\'t realize is that I needed to upgrade my odl Cat5 cables to Cat5e (I actually bought Cat6 although this is probably unecesary)

Strengths:This unit is very fastauto mdi/mdix on all ports no need for crossover cables

Weaknesses:The fan is a bit noisy & the ac adapter is about 1 foot shorter then the linksys 8port 10/100 switch

Summary:This unit looks very nice and works like a charm.
It had no problem detecting all my 100 and 1000mbit clients.
I have no 10mbit clients to test.
I would recommend this to anyone looking into an entry level gigabit workgroup switch.
