This one wasn\'t since it was a HID, not a keyboard emulator as I needed. Tech service at Magtek directed me to the appropriate driver to download for convert from HID to Keyboard emulation. Once installed, the rest was gravy baby.....<br /><br />For non-tech geeks, find a USB swipe reader that is NOT an HID, and a true plug and play. Although I have only used this Card Reader myself for a few days, it works smoothly.<br />The only thing is that it was advertised as a Keyboard Emulator (vs. HID) Card Reader, but it isn\'t. When I first plugged it into my computer, nothing happened and I thought that I had received a bad reader. I plugged/unplugged and tried a few things, but it still didn\'t work. Upon calling Magtek, I was told that I had a HID reader and was directed to their website to download a small software to turn the HID reader to a Keyboard Emulator reader, and then did a quick test with the rep. Evidently, my colleague had to do the same thing when she received hers. It makes entering drivers license information simple with one swipe.  The one weakness is the lack of a universal mounting system.
