It has great image clarity and crispness that could not be found in other monitors that cost more. The colors are bright and true-to-life. The intensity of the hues is pretty natural and there weren\'t any dead pixels. I do not notice any shadows as I move windows around the screen. The set-up was really easy. The software guides you through on-screen prompts to get the settings just how you like them. The software allows you to lock the settings so that no one else in your household can change them without a password - especially useful in a household with children. There is also a port on the back so you can purchase and attach a lock so no one can walk off with it. The controls are easy to find on the back of the screen. And what cable goes where is easy to find also. I did not have any sleep issues at all with this monitor as the other reviewer found. The clarity is awesome with a high response time and refresh rate. The contrast is great and the colors are true to life and bright. The included software makes set-up a breeze. Adjustments are easy and convenient and done right on the screen. There is also a lock so once you have your settings just right, they cannot be changed accidentally or by another user. The sleek design looks great on a desk. It also has a kensington security port lock so that no one can walk off with it. We actually wanted a lower resolution monitor than is available at retail outlets these days (the higher resolutions make everything on the screen tiny - high resolution is great for DVDs and games but not for a Word document). <br />  <br /> Anyway - we chose this 17\" square monitor because it offered the lowest native resolution we could find. We have adjusted the screen settings to make things bigger so overall we are satisfied. <br />  <br /> The monitor has a nice bright picture and offers the usual options in the on-screen display to tweak the brightness, contrast, etc. <br />  <br /> The only thing we have not been able to resolve is that the  monitor refuses to go to sleep (even though the settings on the PC are set to shut down the monitor after 2 hours).
