The first one was for archiving my slides at home. This second scanner is used in the office. This latest scanner was easier to set up. In the office, I use a PC with Windows XP. At home, I use a Mac, and I required technical help. Plustek assistance was no problem, just the west coast time delay to deal with. These scanners come with a more sturdy slide tray, than older Plustek models. <br /> I operate the scanner through Photoshop. Since, I am just archiving slides, the scanner is set at 900dpi. I save the image in JPEG and TIFF. This machine is ideal for my needs. I just wish I had a lot of extra time on my hand. It is a time consuming process, but needs to be done.
