The ac adaptor itself is in fact a Sony adaptor, but I also expected the plug itself to be sony, which it is not. Also it is much smaller than my Sony Docking station power adapter, which is why I bought it.</div><div class="weaknesses"><b>Weaknesses:</b>The wall plug in cord is only 3 feet long, but so is my docking station wall cord. It is a much thiner cord than my docking station cord but then it doesn\'t power the docking station just my Laptop.</div><div class="summary"> <b>Summary:</b>I have only used it for about 2 or 3 hours and it got pretty hot, my docking station power adapter gets pretty warm too but not quite as hot. I hope this doesn\'t mean I will have a problem. I will just have to wait and see. The connections make good contact and the total cord length is std. No LED on the transformer to indicate it has power before you plug it into your laptop.</div><div class="summary"> <b>Summary:</b>I would still buy it again even with its weaknesses. It provides another power source I can bring with me on the road, while the other one stays on my docking station at the office. I miss the LED on the transformer to tell me which airport outlets actually have power. The laptop LED is a bit delayed compared to the original transformer LED, which was instantaneous. The factory original had a shorter AC cord and a longer DC cord. The transformer is located in the middle of the cord on this one. It really hasn\'t made a difference to me, but I think the difference is important to note.
