Strengths:Works directly from a source to the monitor

Weaknesses:Will not work through a receiver

Summary:I purchased this product to go in a cabinet with the receiver acting as a hub for various sources. When the tested the extender it worked perfectly when the source was plugged into the extender and then plugged into a monitor, but when you have your source plugged into a receiver and the receiver into the extender there is no signal at the monitor even though the lights are lit.

I called Tripp Lite and they told me this device would not work through a receiver. It would have been nice to know that before the install.

Summary:Unit did not work, and lacks basic documentation on compatibility. Dissatisfied with this Tripp Lite product. I could not recommend this product to anyone, buyers should not have to R&D a product.

Strengths:Cheap solid solution. No external power supply needed.

Weaknesses:None.

Summary:Forget hdmi repeaters or more expensive hdmi cat5/5e/6 extender kits. This is the best deal. Looked at a similar version from AudioAuthority which requires a external power supply. This one was less than half the price and did not require external power. It works perfectly!!! Also looked at Gefen hdmi repeater way too expensive and hdmi repeaters do not do a great job. My setup Samsung LN52A860 full 1080p hooked up to a PC over Cat 6 23AWG ethernet cable. The distance was 75 feet and this worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this product.
