Summary:I have used this verbatim Store \'n\' Go U3 1GB Smart Flash Drive for about three months now. I have no complaints.

I find the U3 capabilities of this flash drive to be very handy. The fact that I can have portable versions of many of my favorite applications (firefox, skype, etc.) on this flash drive comes in very handy, particularly in a work-related or travel situation.

It is pretty durable as well, which is a plus.

This thumb drive gets a thumbs up!

Summary:I found the additional partition for the antivirus program is confusion to some users. You can not delete it or add more things into it.
The security feature is helpful in most of the time.

Strengths:Decent storage space. More features than a standard flash drive

Summary:Overall, the U3 drive is a nice concept. Rather than just storing only data on your flash drive, U3 drives allow you to install applications onto them. The advantage of this is that you can carry applications (e.g. web browsers, email clients, etc) on your flash drive and use them on different computers even if those systems do not have a web browser or your preferred email client installed.

This feature is certainly handy, although probably not revolutionary for most. The U3 interface (which resembles a mini Windows \"Start\" menu) is easy to use.

Load times are acceptable (except my system is not USB 2, which explains why things aren\'t faster). I would like to have seen more u3 applications included with this item. In particular, an email client and/or a file sync tool would have been appreciated

Summary:I used this drive for several times in the last 30 days. I was amazed by its U3 application. As a regular jumper drive, the file transfer speed is much faster than Sandisk Micro I owned before. Overall, I am very satisfied with it so far.

Weaknesses:Slightly slower in read/write operations compared to other drives of similar capacity out there.

Summary:Here is a thumb drive that does what most other drives do - store files and then some. It is very useful for carrying around some frequently used applications - like your email settings(Thunderbird), your bookmarks (firefox) etc. The password protect facility on the drive is quite useful as well. With a password set when you plug in the drive you are prompted to enter your password before you can access anything.

That said there are some disadvantages. The concept behind U3 seems to be slow in picking up. There are not all that many applications available and new ones are quite slow to come up as well.But still even the existing set of applications make this a very useful piece of hardware to carry around.

Verbatim\'s website provides about five U3 applications now for this drive. You have to go to verbatim\'s dedicated website - www.verbatim.com/u3/... and enter the serial number of your drive to be eligible to download these.

The applications you download and install take quite a bit of the available space. If you are planning on using this primarily to store files exercise some caution on what applications you want to install.

Strengths:Comes with free antivirus and the U3 platform. Also plug & play so it\'s user-friendly.

Weaknesses:None! I think it\'s great.

Summary:I\'ve been using it for several weeks to store data, documents, music files and it has worked perfectly. I like the fact that it comes with free antivirus and the U3 platform. Also, all you have to do is plug in the drive and up pops a really nifty application that teaches you how to take advantage of the software on the drive.It\'s also very affordable! Verbatim is offering a rebate on it at the moment.

Summary:I have had this drive for about 3 weeks now and I think it is one of the best that I have ever had. I haven\'t used the U3 applications yet since I mainly got this just for storage, so I can\'t really comment on their function, but just having them is a plus in my opinion. I think the file transfer speed is excellent and haven\'t had any problems with the drive so far.

Weaknesses:Little bit bigger than other flash drives, transfer speeds are not bad (12MBps read, 4.4MBps write) but not in super fast category either

Summary:I love this drive. I got it for $18 after rebate which was quite a steal. At $50 (what it is now) its a still a great value because of the features I mentioned above. The U3 capibilites are wonderful. It is great to be able to take all your programs with you, many of them free (download at www.u3.com) Excellent drive, highly recommend.

Summary:Bought this U3 drive for a few weeks and highly recommend it. I haven’t used the U3 features much yet and mainly used it for file storage. I am completely satisfied with the operation of the drive. A little bit bulky compared with other 1 GB drives such as sony. Solid and useful in general.

Strengths:Compact, high speed (usb2.0 interface), large storage size,cheap price, U3 feature( although I haven\'t used it yet)

Weaknesses:Length could be shorter, U3 feature only works in windows, not in Linux

Summary:I bought it from Buy.com to replace the PNY 1GB drive I gave it to my wife, the price is right and good with $20 rebate.
The size is compact, although it is a little too long as another reviewer pointed it out. Some features are nice, although it is mainly for Windows, not for Linux.

Strengths:Easy plug and play device. Am using it more as a drag and drop storage device. U3 application is a plus although I haven\'t used this feature.

Weaknesses:* does not work on Win 98. Tech support said: NO drivers for Win 98. (see summary)* effective space for use: 948mb. rest used by U3 and overhead.* No write protect switch.

Summary:1. If you plan to use a USB Flash drive on a Win 98 machine, do NOT buy this drive. The manufacturer doesn\'t supply drivers for Win 98.
[[[*** you may get Generic USB drivers for Win 98 on the internet by searching for - \"Installing USB Mass Storage Devices on Windows 98\" in the msn search engine. These drivers have done wonderfully for my 2 other USB generic no brand name Flash drives. Problem comes in the connection between the USB port and the Drive. it is hit or miss, and for Verbatim Store n go, it was a miss.]]]

2. good drive for use if you want it for drag and drop storage function. U3 software is an accessory plus that is not a must to use.

3. it is little thicker and wider than some other flash drives, so connection to USB port may be an issue if there are other USB devices in close proximity.

4. Would have been better with a write protect switch.

5. On my next purchase, I would buy a Flash Drive whose manufacturer supplies Drivers for Win 98 also.

Summary:I have had my U3 smart drive for several days and highly recommend it. It took me a little while to figure out that it had two virtual drives - one for the preinstalled software and one for storage. I initially kept trying to save my files on the drive with the preinstalled software and it wouldn’t allow it. I haven’t used the U3 features much yet as I mainly got it for file storage. I am completely satisfied with the operation of the drive.

Summary:This has been a very good USB drive for me so far. I have used the U3 features a little bit so far, and haven\'t had much difficulty. As I mention, it is just a little bit larger than other 1 GB drives I\'ve used, and not a useful as a keychain drive. But still, a very good USB drive.

Summary:Nice jump drive with U3. Great price after rebate. The largest USB drive I ever have. It has OK speed and building quality is quite good. However, I also had some problem with U3 launcher. Also it will be nice to have more applications available.
